Safety in severe weather - Service from the Met Office
As the national meteorological service for the United Kingdom, the Met Office has a vital role in public safety. The Met warns the community of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause danger to life or widespread disruption of communications or transport through the National Severe Weather Warning Service (external link).
