Grass verges or shrubbed areas
Service Outline
What we do
- We maintain public grounds
- We cut the grass on highways and public land regularly during the mowing season (usually March until October/November) to ensure it is kept neat and tidy
- Spring flowering bulbs in grassed areas are not normally cut until June, after the leaves have died back, to promote flowers in the following year
- A few areas are maintained with the intention of promoting nature conservation. On these areas, grass is cut twice a year - once in June and again in September / October
- We prune shrub beds on highways and public land (usually November to March) so they are kept neat and tidy
- Our Clean Teams undertake a range of improvement works on land that is prone to crime and disorder problems, such as the pruning of overgrown shrubs and hedges
