Premise Licence or Temporary Event
Any premises providing regulated entertainment must either hold a premises licence granted by the local authority or have submitted a Temporary Event Notice to the local authority authorising the required entertainment.
'Regulated entertainment' is any of the following - plays, films, indoor sporting events, boxing or wrestling entertainment, live and recorded music (or anything similar) and performances of dance (or anything similar) as well as the provision of facilities for making music or for dancing (or for anything similar).

Club Premise Certificate
Clubs are organisations where members have joined together for particular social, sporting or political purposes and then combined to buy alcohol in bulk as members of the organisation to supply in the club, or provide regulated entertainment.
They commonly include Labour, Conservative and Liberal Clubs, the Royal British Legion, other ex-services clubs, working men's clubs, miners welfare institutions, social and sports clubs.

Personal Licence
A Personal Licence allows an individual to be a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) at a licensed premise that sells or supplies alcohol.
