Service Outline

Manchester Youth Offending Service (YOS) is a multi agency team that aims to prevent offending by children and young people. The core work of the YOS involves supervising young offenders and addressing the issues that cause their offending.

The YOS has three teams covering North, Central and South. Each team is multi-agency, including staff from Police, Probation and the Health Service. With a range of agencies working together means that a holistic approach is taken when looking at the needs of a young person. The YOS undertakes interventions based on assessments of these needs, the risk and vulnerability of the young person and the risk the young person represents to the community.
