Street wardens

Service Outline

Manchester City Council's street wardens are patrolling the streets of the city day and night.

Street wardens are not members of the police force and we are not here to take the place of the police; instead we act as the eyes and ears of the community, and should help local people feel safer.

The overall aim of the warden scheme is to build community trust and confidence, and to tackle anti-social behaviour and environmental issues.

Street wardens have a zero tolerance approach to environmental grime and crime, and we will issue Fixed Penalty Notices to any person or business which does not comply.
