Unitary Development Plan (UDP)

Service Outline

This statutory document sets out guidelines for all development in Manchester and is used as a framework from which to base decisions about planning applications.

The UDP was adopted by the Council on 21 July 1995.

The Manchester Plan UDP can be viewed online using the Planning Portal's Local Information section (external site -  you will need to specify Manchester in the Location of Interest box in order to view the Manchester Plan UDP). A printed copy is also available to be viewed in Planning reception.

The electronic version available on the Planning Portal is reproduced for representational purposes only and the definitive legal version remains the printed copy published by Manchester City Council. In cases of doubt or discrepancy, please contact the Planning Strategy group on 0161 234 4594.
