Service Outline

The Governor Support Service Manchester provides training, advice and support to school governors across Manchester.

The Governor Support Service offers:

advice on issues relating to school governance and governing body procedures
termly newsletter The Manchester Governor
a regular programme of training events including Induction courses for new governors, development courses for clerks and chairs of governing bodies and courses aimed at updating more experienced governors.
briefings on topical issues as well as regular briefings for Chairs and Clerks
in school training arranged for individual governing bodies or for local clusters of governing bodies requiring the same training
events for governors such as the Manchester Governors Annual Conference
support to the Manchester Governors Association
a local authority clerking service; available on either a standard, or a high level consultancy basis
