Britain in Bloom

Service Outline

Each year many communities throughout the city work with Manchester City Council to participate in 'Bloom' projects. These projects brighten up environments and regenerate communities by tackling local issues and building up the sense of community.

Imaginative planting of trees, flowers and shrubs, combined with projects which tackle litter and antisocial behaviour, create long-term improvements to the local area. Bloom projects in the past have included: wildlife gardens, fruit orchards, green play areas and flowering baskets on shop frontages. The communities' ideas and enthusiasm are key to successful and lasting projects.

We want to encourage even more people in Manchester to participate in a 'Bloom' project at some level. For this reason we have created different levels and stages to increase involvement.
