Service Outline

Heaton Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Europe and was part of the estate of the Earls of Wilton. It forms 25% of the green space in Manchester and has been owned by Manchester City Council since 1902.

Heaton is a traditional family park with facilities for all ages.

The magnificent 18th century Heaton Hall is a grade 1 listed building and is licensed to host weddings/civil partnerships. The Orangery is a popular venue for hosting functions.

The park has a variety of catering outlets for visitors such as cafes and ice cream vendors.

The animal centre has a variety of animals ranging from alpacas to rabbits.

The Hidden Gem Garden Centre stocks and sells plants throughout the year.

Bowling greens, an 18-hole pay and play golf course, pitch and putt, horse riding, donkey rides and rowing boats for hire on the boating lake cater for the more energetic.

There is also a Transport Museum where you can take a ride on vintage trams.

There are many exciting things happening in the park during the year like outdoor drama, sponsored runs, concerts and seasonal celebrations.

The wardens hold regular health walks and organise school visits.
