House in Multiple Occupation
To operate certain Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) the house requires to be licensed under Part 2 of the Housing Act 2004.

Selective Licensing
Certain areas of Manchester have been designated as Selective Licensing Areas following approval by the Government.

If you rent out a house in a designated Selective Licensing Area you will require a licence from your local authority.

• Apply online for Selective and HMO Licenses, or make a complaint.
