Service Outline

If a neighbour or business has installed lighting that is causing you problems when in use, such as excessively bright illumination of your living room or bedroom, the council will be able to help. 

We do not deal with complaints of light being blocked or obscured.

If you have a complaint about:

• Your right to light
• Loss of light

It is normally a private matter between all parties involved, if however a building/structure has been built without planning permission and is causing  problems, you can contact the planning department for them to investigate on planning@manchester.gov.uk
