Service Outline

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities including Manchester City Council. The Act came into force on 1st January 2005.

Any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled to be informed whether the public authority holds that information, and, subject to any exemptions, be supplied with that information.
