The Benefits Service tells state schools to provide free school meals for families who get certain qualifying incomes and live in Manchester. The scheme is for children who live in Manchester, even if they go to school in another area. If you live outside Manchester and your child goes to a Manchester school, you should contact your local council. Find out if you are eligible for free school meals

School meals for over 150 primary, secondary and special needs schools in Manchester are provided by Manchester Fayre. They promote healthy eating and lifestyles in schools by working in partnership with head teachers, governors and parents.
