Marriage - arrangement and ceremony
Service Outline
The Manchester Registration Service offers a choice of four marriage ceremonies all of which vary in length and content. We ask all couples to choose the ceremony they wish to have before the date of the marriage and, where possible, inform us of their decision (see Contact Registrars). These ceremonies are used whether the marriage is taking place at the Manchester Register Office or at one of the licensed venues we attend.
If you would prefer a religious wedding, you will need to contact the minister or leader of the religious building in which you wish to get married, and he or she will be able to guide you through the process. Whichever route you choose, there is usually a lengthy registration process to go through and quite a lot of paperwork to complete, so it always advisable to contact the venue as soon as you have set a date.
