How to access Manchester Advice

Advicekit

We provide advice and information about

  • Council services - such as adult social care, children's services, housing, education, leisure
  • Benefits, Pensions and Tax Credits
  • Debt
  • Housing rights and homelessness
  • Consumer Law
  • Basic immigration rights

Manchester Advice is changing the way it runs its service.

  • We want to be able to provide effieient and effective services, delivered by a skilled workforce representative of the community we serve.
  • This will enable us to meet the vision for our service of providing the highest quality accessible advice services in social welfare law.
  • Our objectives clarify the way in which we hope to achieve this and our web pages will continuously be updated to inform you about changes to our services as they happen

Manchester Advice organises training for our own and other advisors, for health and local authority staff, for voluntary and community organisations, for other statutory and private organisations. We run a series of scheduled courses throughout the year and can also provide tailor-made or bespoke courses to suit the particular needs of your organisation. Charges vary.

We publish a range of information leaflets, fact sheets and self-help packs and Manchester's A-Z of Council Services which you can obtain for free by phoning 0161 234 3906, or by emailing us or by asking an advice worker.  We produce New Benefit Rates to help advisers.

We are responsible for co-ordinating the Manchester Advice and Information Network and for funding many other advice agencies in the city.
