Good Neighbours

Several good community events in Crumpsall over the weekend. Moston Brook FC held their mega football tournament down by the Irk attracting the hundreds of young people taking part.

Lower Crumpsal TRA held a good neighbours event - a good turnout and the sun shone. Friends of Herristone Park were not so lucky when their annual Picnic in the Park got its usual deluge. It was a great event and well-attended but the rain falls on it every year, so much so that the organisers are offering to take the event to drought-stricken parts of the globe.

Today continues with the local theme when myself and fellow Councillor Con Keegan meet with Crumpsall and Blackley Village's new Ward Co-ordinator and with our Ward Support Officer to discuss Crumpsall and Blackley Village issues. We work through the ward action plan, things to be done from the last ward co-ordination meeting, before deciding the main theme for the next meeting - supporting people and supported housing. We approve four Cash grants, for Cheetham Hill Cricket Club, Cheetham Hill Squash Club (both located in Higher Crumpsall), Moston Brook FC, and St Peters Church. We work through our neighbourhood funding proposals, some, like getting extra gulley cleaning successful. Others not. It's a good start to the day before making the trek to the Town Hall.
