Willow on Leather - again

The blog is likely to become a little less regular as August progresses as I am trying to get some time off. By way of example, had a meeting last night with the Leader and Chief Executive of Liverpool so used that as an opportunity to spend a pleasant day in Aigburth. Train to Lime Street, walk down to Albert Docks and then along the river to Aigburth for a largely sunny day watching Lancashire not doing particularly well at cricket.

Today starts with Executive Members Group meeting where the sole issue is the delivery of this and next year's budget. We are determined to keep the budget in balance as otherwise we would have to make even more cuts on top of the horrendous decisions we have already been forced to take. However as I have said before, implementing the budget is the hard part and a lot of work is going in to identifying risks and mitigating against them. Meetings to do with Ancoats and then the Port Health Authority follow, before I go to the Hexagon Tower for a walkabout in Blackley Village, followed in the early evening by a Lower Crumpsall tenants meeting. Off tomorrow and hoping for some decent walking weather.
