• Licence

  Application to renewal either Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Driver Licence

• Summary

  If you are eligible you will receive a letter in the post stating a unique number. This unique number will allow you to apply online.
  
  In order to ensure your application is processed on time, please submit your application at least 5 working days prior to expiry.
  
  You can NOT renew online if:
  - your hackney carriage or private hire driver licence (badge) has expired;
  - require a CRB disclosure;
  - require a medical report;

• Fees

  £103 (includes £10 for DVLA licence check)

• Validity / Renewals

  The licence is valid for 12 months and must be renewed annually before expiry.
  
  Once the licence has expired it cannot be renewed and a new application should be submitted.
  
  If required, your CRB disclosure and DVLA mandate are valid for 3 years.

• Relevant legislation

  Your licence should still be valid.
  
  

• Attachments to be submitted with your Application

  Passport size photograph (only if your appearance has changed).
  

• Information required to process Online

  You will need a debit or credit card;
  
  Have the following details available:
  - unique number;
  - badge number;
  - date of birth;
  - National Insurance number;
  - details of any criminal convictions (including spent), you are not required to declare any driving convictions on this form;
  - valid e-mail address (for acknowledgement / payment receipt);

• Declaration

  Upon completion of your application you will be required to confirm that you:
  a) have read fully and understood the contents of this form and any supporting information and agree to the terms and/or conditions set out within;
  b) understand that by submitting this application, you consent to Manchester City Council passing on the data within this application and its supporting documents to any authority or person that will assist its determination of this application, or as required by law;
  c) declare that the information provided is true to the best of your knowledge and belief;
  d) understand that if any false information is provided you may be guilty of an offence and liable to prosecution;
  e) understand that if the application is authorised you must inform the authority about any changes to circumstances that mean you no longer meet the conditions for the authorisation;
  f) understand where a statutory declaration has been provided it may be forwarded to Greater Manchester Police;
