• Summary

  You may apply to install CCTV in a Manchester licensed hackney carriage or private hire vehicle. The application can be submitted with either a new licence or for renewal of a current licence as part of the application process.
  
  The equipment must be of an approved make, model and system and be supplied and fitted by a City Council approved supplier. The equipment will be inspected by vehicle examiners at Gorton Test Centre as part of the full vehicle inspection.

  The legislation only allows conditions to be placed on a hackney carriage/private hire vehicle proprietor licence at the time of renewal.
  
  If you are completing this form other than at the renewal of the licence, you will also have to complete an ‘undertaking form’ which advises that you are willing to abide by the conditions relating to the installation of CCTV in your vehicle.
  
  On renewal of the licence the conditions will automatically apply.

• Application Evaluation Process

  If the application is successful the vehicle licence will be subject to additional conditions to ensure that the CCTV system is appropriately installed and maintained so as not to interfere with the safety and comfort of passengers and to ensure the integrity of any images captured.
