We want to keep our powers for the control of dogs in the city. This will involve looking at the rules we had, and putting new ones in place. These rules or 'Public Spaces Protection Orders’ (PSPOs) are designed to make sure we can all use and enjoy public spaces.
The orders we have in place have been working well but are coming to an end. We would like to continue this good work and keep the ability to take action if needed.
We also want:
- to review and update the areas in the city where these rules apply
- a new rule that makes it an offence if the person in control of a dog can’t show us that they have the means to pick up and dispose of faeces from that dog
