Description
Your most important day needs a memorable setting, and in Manchester, not many come close to the Whitworth
Building. This beautiful neo-gothic building, standing at the heart of the Universitys main campus on Oxford Road,
offers two stunning oak panelled rooms for your Civil Wedding or Partnership Ceremony.
The Council Chamber, a room steeped in atmosphere and witness to many important University decisions in the past,
is licensed for 70 guests (£500 including staffing). The Whitworth Hall is the Universitys imposing ceremonial venue,
where the stained glass, stone pillars and impressive vaulted wooden ceiling provide an elegant and unforgettable
venue. The Whitworth Hall is licensed for 550 (£1500 including staffing).Alternatively, it can accommodate up to 250 guests for the wedding breakfast and evening function with a very high standard of catering offered by our inhouse caterers.
Christies Bistro, set in what was the original University library, is adjacent to the Whitworth Building and offers
a sophisticated and calm venue amongst its bookshelves and deep
sofas. Receptions and wedding breakfasts for up to 140 people
here, are tailored to your needs by Chancellors at Christies Bistro. -
