Manchester City Council Policy on Special Educational Needs
This is Manchester City Council's Policy on Special Educational needs.
This policy applies to all children and young people in Manchester between the ages of 0 -19 who have SEN and whom the Authority has a statutory obligation as defined by the Education Act 1996 and the SEN Code of Practice. The policy applies equally to all pupils and their families whatever their gender, ethnic origin, home language, religion, disability or social circumstances.
This policy also has implications for all our partners in the SEN process, i.e. schools, governing bodies, parents/carers and statutory/voluntary agencies.
