Health Walk - Heaton Park

Our Health Walks in Parks should carry a health warning - they're seriously good for you!

Every Sunday

  • Good for your health
  • Good for socialising

Half an hour's walking per day cuts the risk of heart disease by up to half, as well as reducing risk of some cancers, diabetes, obesity and helps improve mental health.

The walks are led by experienced Park Wardens and have been developed with the Health Promotion Group.

To join, just turn up at the meeting points listed. To be safe, call beforehand to check the walk is on.

Writers at the Library

Manchester Libraries present an ongoing programme of writers and author events throughout the year.

Manchester Irish Festival

Date: 5th Mar 10 - 21st Mar 10

A city-wide showcase of Irish culture and celebration of all things Irish.

Highlights include the St Patrick's Parade (14 March), which sees over 70 floats, bands and walking groups wind their way through the city.

¡VIVA! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival

Date: 5th Mar 10 - 28th Mar 10

The UK’s largest Spanish language film festival showcases the newest and most interesting feature films, documentaries and short films to come out of Spain and Spanish-speaking Latin America.

With talks, events and master classes led by guests and filmmakers, the festival is of huge value to Spanish speakers in this country, students of Spanish, and anyone who is interested in cinema, travel, or Spanish and Latin American culture. There will also be a special ¡Viva! exhibition in Cornerhouse galleries of internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Carlos Amorales.
