Are there any grants available from the local authority for students at sixth form college or in further education?
There are no grants for learners in further education (as opposed to compulsory or higher education) from the local authority.
However, learners who are 19 or over can apply for an Adult Learning Grant (ALG) and those ages 16-18 may be eligible for an Education Maintence Allowance (EMA). These grants are no longer managed by local authorities.
