Do governors get paid?

No. They are the largest volunteer workforce in the country. They are however able to claim expenses for e.g. travel and childcare during meetings. Governors report that they gain a lot including the satisfaction they get from contributing or 'giving something back;' learning new skills; gaining confidence and seeing benefits of their work to the children and young people in their school and community.
