What help is available towards transport costs for students aged 16-18?

The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) provide concessionary bus passes on normal bus routes to all full-time students aged 16 to 18 and lifetime free travel for students with special educational needs. Manchester colleges also consider applications for help with travel costs.

Applications for GMPTE support can be obtained from:

• Children's Services Department, SEN Casework Service 0161 234 7265 (only for students with special educational needs)
  
• Concessionary travel permits available from GMPTE Travelshops on major bus stations or request by telephone 0161 244 1050. Application forms are also available from colleges.
