Business Continuity Management
Advice for the Business and Voluntary Sector
Manchester City Council is committed to building safer and stronger communities; one important aspect of this work is to ensure our local businesses are prepared to cope with disruptive incidents such as severe weather, staff absence, flood and fire. Business Continuity Management not only enables organisations to plan and prepare for the unexpected, but also helps you to recover from such events quickly and efficiently.
Manchester City Council wants to support local businesses and voluntary organisations in being prepared for the effects of emergencies or other incidents that might affect them, by promoting the development of business continuity plans.
Whilst we are not able to provide specific advice to individual organisations on a one-to-one basis, we have created these information pages to help raise awareness of business continuity and to highlight the importance of contingency planning.
The Manchester Business Continuity Forum (MBCF) is an award-winning partnership initiative that was launched by Manchester City Council and its partners to develop, promote and drive forward the business continuity message in Manchester and beyond. The MBCF offer a variety of free events and activities which aim to encourage and facilitate the sharing of business continuity knowledge and expertise throughout our diverse membership.
If you have any specific queries that haven't been answered with the generic advice provided on these pages and external links, please contact the Business Continuity Team, part of the Council's Civil Contingencies Unit, who will be happy to help.
