Update on Youth Services Consultation
Manchester City Council's Youth Services consultation took place between 8 April and 3 June 2011. This is to let you know the results and update you on the next steps.
Your views count, so we wanted to hear what you thought of some of the intended changes to the services we provide for young people. Over a thousand residents responded, including 967 young people and 83 parents, so a big thank you to all of those who took part.
To find out what everyone thought download the consultation feedback summary.
By using your feedback we are developing a Valuing Young People Strategy. In it we talk about our commitment to young people and how we aim to ensure that we're providing a wide range of positive activities and services for the youth of Manchester. We will let you know when our strategy is ready and you will be able to find out more about our plans.
At the moment we're talking to possible partners and providers regarding commissioning services based on your feedback. In September we'll update you again with further information about new services and how you can use them.
In the meantime there's absolutely loads of stuff happening across Manchester this summer. They're all local events and activities plus most of them are free. From den building in Clayton, and football skills at Belle Vue Leisure Centre to the circus skills reading challenge in your local library - there's literally 'Allsorts to do'.
