What is the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund?
After the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena on 22 May 2017, Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross and the Manchester Evening News raised funds to help those affected by the attack. The We Love Manchester Fund (the Fund) was established on 26 May 2017 to coordinate, administer and distribute the various monies donated in response to the attack.

The objects of the fund are:

  • To relieve sickness or disability whether physical or mental of victims of the disaster and their dependents;
  • To help with the financial needs of the victims, including families and dependents of those killed or injured;
  • To support other charitable purposes as the trustees shall consider appropriate.

On 30 May 2017, the Fund formally became a registered charity (Charity Number 1173260) with the Charity Commission.
