How to use this website
How to search and navigate the new website
The following tips will help you get the most from the new Manchester City Council website.
Access your Council services online
You can now access many of your council services via our website. To view most popular services just click on the service task bar on the homepage.

Menus
More topics have been added to the main menu to reflect the services that you have searched for most.
Search
The site search will predict relevant pages based on your search query. You can also view the current top searches on www.manchester.gov.uk by clicking on the service task bar.

Events
Manchester has a fantastic range of council-supported events and we found that Events listings were one of the most viewed areas of the site. Events now has its own place on the homepage so visitors to the site can keep up to date with what's on in Manchester.

News
The old homepage had lots of links to articles, making it difficult to see what was the most important. We have condensed the news section into a carousel with the top four stories at any one time. You can still view all of our news stories in the news archive.

Social links
You can find ShareThis links in the footer of every page so if you want to share information on www.manchester.gov.uk can do so via a range of social networking services.

A-Z of Services
The A-Z is a definitive list of all our services, organised alphabetically. This can be found on the bottom of the main menu on the left hand side of the homepage.

Site Map
The site map provides a quick reference list of all the sections of the website. It will also help you understand the structure of the website and its information. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please do contact us.
What's next?
The refresh of www.manchester.gov.uk is certainly not the end. We are constantly working to improve the quality of the information on our site so that you can access council services and information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We'll be introducing richer content, in the near future.
We want your opinions!
