Schools & education Helping you meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) - Support documents

Helping you to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements

As part of the EYFS, you are required to complete observations, assessments and planning. You also need to know children's starting point and track their progress. To help you with this we attach a template for observation and assessing. We also attach a template for you to complete observation summaries, which ideally should be completed every 6 - 12 weeks. There are also sample planning sheets. You can choose which you think will suit your needs if you do not have systems in place.

We have also put the 'development matters' statements into the broad phases of learning to help you track children's progress and get an overview of child development. You can use these alongside the 'Tracking Progress' document.

We have also attached Manchester's Risk Assessment document, complaints record form and a sample parent questionnaire.
