Construction of the new £14million Grange School has now been completed, with the new school being built on the former Cedar Mount High School site. The new Grange School provides 150 places for children aged 4-19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). A residential unit has also been constructed which will provide ten long-term residential places and ten short-break places.
The school has been designed specifically to meet the unique needs of children with ASD and contains a range of specialist facilities including soft play areas, sensory rooms, therapy areas, innovative outdoor learning environments and play areas. The school also has state of the art ICT facilities, specialist curriculum areas and facilities to promote the development of life-skills. In addition, the inclusion of conference, training and specialist therapy facilities enables Grange to provide support to children with ASD across Manchester who attend other schools.
