About the Emergency Management Plan

The City Council's Emergency Management Plan is designed to handle any emergency incident within Manchester City Council's boundaries no matter how, where, or when it happens. The plan is based on a framework which can be flexibly adapted to respond to different circumstances, because every emergency incident is unique.

The Emergency Planning Section's role is to act as the central point for contact between the Emergency Services and the City Council as a whole. It provides Local Authority and other resources e.g. from external suppliers to support the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance and Health Services, where appropriate.
