Bring your empty home back to life
An empty property is a wasted home that costs you money. It should be lived in by someone who needs it. It should be an asset to you and the local community.
We can give you expert advice about:
Selling the property
Get your property professionally surveyed and valued and sell through an estate agent, at auction, or by advertising. If you can't afford repair work, or it's difficult to organise, consider selling to a builder or developer at a lower price.
Or sell to us, or a local housing association! If your property has been empty for more than six months, and is in a qualifying area, we can organise a free and independent valuation and survey, and offer you a fair market value.
We can usually, complete the sale in six to eight weeks.
Renting it out
If your property is ready to move into, you can rent it out. You could do that yourself or use an agency. Renting through an agency can take out some of the hassle and responsibility, although you have to pay for the service. Or you might be able to get a housing association to take it on.
Leasing to a housing association
A housing association could help you with the cost of repairs if you are willing to lease the property to them. The association takes a proportion of the rent, depending on the cost of the repairs and the length of the lease. The property must have been empty for more than six months.
This solution gives you:
- guaranteed rental income
- no commission or set-up costs
- no day-to-day responsibilities as a landlord
- a full property management service, including repairs, gas and electricity checks, and buildings insurance
- a property returned to you in good condition at the end of the lease
Low cost loans
We offer a range of interest-free and low-cost loans to help you meet repair and improvement costs to bring your empty property homes back into use. The property must have been empty for at least six months, and must be brought back into use within 12 months.
