Manchester Women's Aid

Outreach Service Manager
To ensure MWA achieves excellent standards in community based support for those affected by domestic violence through the effective leadership
and strategic management of the service
Salary NJC Scale PO 33 - 37 per annum
(35 hours per week)
(Available until March 2012 pending further funding)
Community Language Outreach Worker
To provide advice, support and information to those affected by domestic violence in the community.
(Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi languages desirable)
Salary NJC Scale 25 (£21,519) per annum
This is a 12 month contract covering Maternity Leave
Refuge Worker (North)
To provide high quality housing support to women & children
seeking refuge protection from domestic abuse.
Salary NJC Scale 25 (£21,519) per annum
This is a 6 month contract covering Maternity Leave.
City Wide Domestic Violence Pool Workers
To provide relief cover for frontline staff in their absence, on an ad-hoc basis as & when required, to assist project managers to provide support using key work system. Please send a CV & cover letter.
Wage: £8.00 per hour
Work will be offered to you on an "ad hoc" basis as and when there is work to be done. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with direct experience of delivering health and social care to join our training team. You will carry out NVQ and LDQ assessments and verifications within our services in and around the North Westregion. You must be prepared to deliver NVQ/LDQ inductions and specific training sessions. You must be a hold the A1 Award (or D32/33). NVQ 4 or a relevant professional qualification is desirable as is the V1 award. Professional development will be encouraged and provided.
Cost Control Officer

We need a well-organised and proactive person to manage our utility accounts and other external service contracts. Your role will be to minimise cost and maximize efficiency, working closely with suppliers and all departments. You must be a graduate (preferably in a numerate or business orientated discipline) with good IT, telephone and customer care skills and have the ability to multi-task and solve problems. HARP
Manchester Assertive Outreach is a partnership between HARP and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust to provide three assertive outreach teams across the city. We work with 308 hard-to-engage individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs and complex needs including homelessness, substance use and offending.
HARP wishes to appoint the following:
Social Inclusion Worker
(North Assertive Outreach Team)
£18, 270 pa + 5% pension contribution + anti-social hours payments
Social Inclusion has a key part to play in supporting people to access services and activities within their own communities. To ensure that this happens we are looking for a creative, innovative person with excellent engagement skills and a positive approach to team-working and working with people with complex needs. You will need to be a team worker but also not afraid to take the lead when needed and we would expect that you will have experience working with people with mental health needs and/or with people who are hard to reach. If you have also had experience of using mental health services this may well be an advantage.
As part of a team work approach you would be providing specific support to people using Assertive Outreach to access identified opportunities around employment, voluntary work, educational and leisure both within service settings and within the local community.
We will not expect you to have a recognised qualification but being able to show evidence of continued professional development would be seen as positive.
This post is 37 hours per week
Admin Worker
(North Assertive Outreach Team) - Maternity Cover for up to 12 months
£19,126 + 5% pension contribution
Under the direction of the Assertive Outreach Team Manager and the Office Manager you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and confidential administrative support service to the staff members of the assertive outreach team and provide a telephone reception service to those people who wish to contact the team.
It is a very busy office environment where peoples' needs might change on a daily basis. You will need to have good IT skills, be well organised and have excellent communication skills. It would be useful to have an understanding of the issues faced by people with mental health needs.
This post is 35 hours per week
