City centre parking changes - What's happening?
Parking meters
- From Monday 24 October, charges will apply to marked parking spaces from 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday, adding an extra two hours in the evening, and also all day Sunday.
- One hour maximum stay spaces will be extended to two hours maximum stay.
- Once parked, drivers can return to 'top up' their ticket as long as they don't exceed the maximum time stated on the meter.
Single yellow lines and loading bays
- From Monday 24 October, parking on single yellow lines will only be allowed 8pm-8am.
- From Monday 24 October, current loading bays that operate from Monday to Saturday 8am - 6pm will change to Monday to Sunday 8am - 8pm.
- New hours of operation to shared use spaces: please check signage upon arrival
Parking in marked spaces
- This will continue to be free of charge on Bank Holidays.
Other changes will also apply
- Residents parking changes to make permits valid Mon-Fri 8am-9am and 5pm-8pm, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
- New pricing structure - pay for each 30 minutes (rather than per 15 minutes)
