Manchester Landlord Information Service: MLIS

How to join MLIS

Manchester Landlord Information Service logoTo become an MLIS landlord you must rent out in an MLIS area. And your properties, and tenancy management, must meet certain standards.

Our MLIS 'code of standards' describes the necessary condition of a property (its safety features for instance), how to manage a tenancy, how to start and end tenancies, and good practice in dealing with things like antisocial behaviour.

Four steps to becoming an MLIS landlord

  1. read the MLIS 'code of standards'
  2. print-out and sign the 'code of standards declaration' to confirm that you meet the standards
  3. print-out and fill in the MLIS application form
  4. send us the application form, declaration and a copy of your standard tenancy agreement (address below)
