The cost of a selective licence depends on how quickly you apply for it. The longer you leave it, the more expensive it becomes.

Application within three months

If you apply within three months of selective licensing coming into force in the area, the costs are:

First property: £425
Subsequent properties: £317

Application between three and six months 

If you apply between three and six months of selective licensing coming into force in the area, the costs are:

First property: £475
Subsequent properties: £367

Application after six months 

If you apply more than six months after selective licensing came into force in the area, the costs are:

First property: £525
Subsequent properties: £417

Incorrect applications

Please make sure you complete the application form correctly. If it's wrong or incomplete we may charge a £25 administration fee.

If you buy a property

If you buy a property in an area where selective licensing is already in operation you will be eligible for the cheaper rates - if you have evidence of the purchase date.
