Manchester City Council's Petitions Scheme

Introduction to the Petitions Scheme

Petitions are one way in which local people can let the Council know about their concerns.

The Council has recently adopted a formal Petition Scheme which sets out how the Council will deal with petitions that come within the scope of the Scheme.  The Council's Petition Scheme applies to paper petitions and to e-petitions submitted through our new electronic petition facility.

In order to make it easier for you to find out about the progress of your petition, all petitions that come within the scope of the Council's Petition Scheme will be reported on the Council's Petitions Website, which will be updated to record the steps that the Council decides to take in response to your petition.
