R.Y.A. DAYSKIPPER/COMPETENT CREW (SHOREBASED) COURSE Course Fee £185

This is a basic seamanship course and introduction to navigation and meteorology, leading to a shorebased certificate of competence.

R.Y.A./D.O.T. COASTAL SKIPPER/YACHTMASTER OFFSHORE (SHOREBASED) COURSE
Course Fee £185

This is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology for candidates for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore certificate, leading to a shorebased certificate of competence. completion of the Dayskipper/Competent Crew course is strongly recommended prior to enrolling on this course.

V.H.F. G.M.D.S.S. SHORT RANGE CERTIFICATE        Course Fee £90

This is a one-day course covering the restricted certificate of competence in radio telephony (VHF only), covering allocation of channels in the VHF maritime mobile band, use of a VHF/DSC radiotelephone, voice procedure and radio discipline, distress, urgency, safety, regulations and documentation.

R.Y.A. BASIC NAVIGATION  AND SAFETY COURSE   Course Fee £155

This new two day course is aimed at anyone new to sailing or powerboating, sea angling and diving, as well as experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers and inland water users. The syllabus includes passage planning, charts and position plotting, safety, buoyage, tidal awareness, visual navigation and pilotage, rules of the road, electronic navigation, anchoring, weather forecasts. There will be no end of course exam as assessment of students' learning will take place throughout the course. The course is a great refresher for those who have completed Dayskipper or Yachtmaster a while ago.
