Council house parking

Parking at your council home

As a Tenant in a Council home, you are able to park a car.  If you have a proper driveway, and the kerb on the pavement has been dropped, then you may park on the property.

You can put in a drive yourself, and you must get our permission before you do this.  We take great care to ensure that any driveway is safe, and that it does not affect your neighbours.  In some circumstances we may not permit you to build a driveway for these reasons.  If you wish to build a driveway, you must contact us at least 28 days before you plan to start work. We'll check the work would be safe and assess the effect on the property.

If you wish to park on the road in front of your property, please make sure you are aware of any parking restrictions such as yellow lines before you park your vehicle.  Please see the Parking Service for more information on this.

You cannot drop the kerb yourself. Any requests must be made to Manchester City Council to do this.
