Insure your belongings
Are your personal belongings insured against theft, fire, vandalism or bursts?
Your landlord does not insure these things, so you should take out your own cover.
Either make your own arrangements, or use the Manchester Tenants Insurance Scheme.
You can use this special scheme if you're a Manchester council tenant, or a tenant of any not-for-profit landlord (like a housing trust or housing association); as long as you live in the area covered by Manchester City Council - see map.
You don't pay any more because you have a particular postcode - the rates are the same wherever you live.
