Caring for children with disabilities can be a very rewarding experience. We are looking for people from all parts of the city and from all backgrounds. You should be interested in supporting young people with disabilities to achieve their potential and be part of your community and the wider Manchester Community.
Short breaks for children with disabilities
This service exists to support children and their families. Non-disabled children often have a circle of friends and family with whom they enjoy trips out, meal times and overnight stays. Children with disabilities are sometimes limited in the relationships they form because of many factors. They often go to different schools from other children in their neighbourhood; their parents often form friendships with other parents of children with disabilities. Consequentially they may have fewer opportunities to experience other families, and activities and interests not within this circle.
All children in society need different, varied and exciting life opportunities. Could you help a child with disabilities experience this?
