Adoption: change a child's life

Find out more and take the next step

The advice on these web pages can help you decide if you want to explore adoption further.

It's a life-changing decision. Parenting a child who isn't born to you is challenging and different. You, and your partner if you have one, need to be fully committed. If you don't have a partner you'll need good support from family and friends.

But if everything is right for you and the child, it's a decision that can bring amazing results for you and your new son or daughter.

The next steps

  1. Find out even more about adoption in our information pack. See if it helps you decide whether to go any further.
  2. Do as much research as you can about adoption and the needs of children who have suffered early-life difficulties. Websites like the British Association of Adoption and Fostering and Adoption UK are packed with more information
  3. When you have read our information pack and are ready to take the next step, send us the I am interested in adoption form.
  4. We'll contact you to arrange a friendly discussion - usually within a couple of days, but in no more than two weeks.
