Access to Building Control Services
At Manchester Building Control, every effort is made to ensure that access to our staff, offices and service is user-friendly for our customers. We understand that not all of our customers are able to access the full range of our services because of language barriers, disability, or personal circumstances. To help overcome these barriers, Manchester Building Control can assist its customers in accessing its services more fully, by using a variety of complementary services.
Because Manchester has such a diverse ethnic community, there can be up to 40 different languages in use daily, throughout the city. If you have difficulty understanding any of our forms, letters, or leaflets, we can have these translated for you. We can also arrange for a translator/interpreter to be present during a meeting with our staff, either at our offices, or at your home or workplace.
If your personal circumstances prevent you from visiting our offices, we can arrange for a member of staff to visit you at either your home or workplace to explain our services more fully.
All our forms, leaflets and information can be translated into large print or Braille.
Alternatively, we can have an audiotape/CD made of the information you require.
A textphone is in use and can be reached by telephoning 0161 234 4330.
We also have a loop system at our reception counter. If you have difficulty reading or completing any of our forms, a member of our team will take the time to assist you.
