About Sporting Edge Community Sports Centre
Sporting Edge Community Sports Centre situated in Higher Openshaw is now open.
The new sports facility opened to the public in June 2007 and now has a wide range of activities available to children, young people and adults.
The new £1.1 million sports facility was given the go-ahead thanks to a unique partnership between New Deals for Communities, Manchester City Council (Leisure Services), 4CT and Manchester City FC.
Funding was provided through a £600,000 grant from Barclays and the Football Foundation together with £340,000 from New Deal for Communities, £161,000 from ERDF and £50,000 from Manchester Leisure. In addition Barclays has given a £5,000 grant for kit and equipment and a £45,000 development fund to ensure its sustainability. The facility is part of the major re-development of the Toxteth Street neighbourhood of Higher Openshaw.

Indoor Sports Hall - 3 Outdoor five a side pitches (floodlit)

Opening Times
Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 21:00
Saturday - Available for bookings between 09:00 - 20:00
Sunday - Available for bookings between 10:00 - 19:00
