Consultations and surveys Proposed changes to our licensing policy for Ancoats and New Islington

Our long-term ambition for the Ancoats and New Islington regeneration area is for a high-quality, sustainable and distinctive residential area where people choose to live, work and spend leisure time.

Taking this into account, we want to introduce a special policy that will allow licensable activities to take place up to 11pm unless there are exceptional circumstances. This includes the sale or supply of alcohol (with extra ‘drinking up’ time if alcohol is being sold for drinking on the premises up to 11.30 pm), providing entertainment and late night refreshments.

The special policy will only apply to new premise licences or extensions to a current licence.
