Ardwick Private Finance Initiative (PFI): Grove Village

Around 1,000 Manchester City Council homes on the Plymouth Grove and Stockport Road estates in Ardwick switched to new management in March 2003.

As part of a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) scheme, a new organisation called Grove Village manages the estates, but the City Council continues to own the homes. Tenants stay as council tenants and keep all their rights.

Grove Village are regenerating the area so that every home - new and refurbished - is up to good modern standards. They are redesigning the layout of the estates too, making Ardwick a safer, brighter place to live.
