Collyhurst's future

Home improvements and a future with Northwards

There's a brighter future ahead for people in Collyhurst as a multi-million pound home improvement scheme gets underway.

It's the result of our successful bid for government funding - topped up by Council cash to deliver as many value-for-money improvements as possible.

Some money is guaranteed and already being spent, with much more to come if everything goes to plan and the government continues to back the project.

Northwards Housing

We have teamed up with Northwards Housing - a not-for-profit housing organisation that has already transformed more than 12,000 council homes in the north of the city.

Northwards are organising the home improvement work for us. They are using an organisation called Manchester Working and other contractors to do the work.

Longer-term

The home improvements are great news. But what about the longer-term? As well as upgrading local homes, we want to give your day-to-day housing service a secure future too.

Local tenants have backed a new housing service: the Council will still own the homes but from April 2012 they will be managed by Northwards Housing.
