Collyhurst transfers to Northwards
Northwards Housing runs Collyhurst council homes
Council homes in Collyhurst are now managed by Northwards Housing, a local not-for-profit organisation.
Local tenants overwhelmingly backed the move - in a test of opinion at the end of 2011 - as the best way to give their day-to-day housing service a secure future.
If you're a council tenant in the area, we are still your landlord. You stay a tenant of Manchester City Council, with all your legal rights. But you should contact Northwards Housing to order repairs, pay rent and for all your housing queries.
Leaseholders
If you're a leaseholder who has bought your council flat, we will continue to collect your service charge but Northwards will organise any work to the outside of the building and to communal areas.
Home improvements
Meanwhile, a multi-million pound home improvement scheme is making a brighter future for Collyhurst people.
Some money is guaranteed and already being spent, with much more to come if everything goes to plan and the government continues to back the project.
Northwards are organising the home improvement work for us. They are using an organisation called Manchester Working and other contractors to do the work.
